Kimpton Hotel Salzburg
Midstad B.V.
For the transformation of the former AVA courtyard on Ferdinand-Hanusch-Platz in Salzburg, Midstad is developing a mixed-use inner-city complex that combines historic architecture with new functions. At the heart of the project is a Kimpton hotel, complemented by retail, dining, and other urban amenities.
The design reinforces the existing urban fabric and creates new connections within the neighborhood. Activated ground-floor zones open the building to public space and contribute to the revitalization of the inner-city environment. The integration of diverse uses creates a dense, versatile mix of functions that strengthens the site in the long term.
The architecture unites existing and new structures into a cohesive ensemble. Clear interventions and new spatial sequences structure the building and create differentiated interior spaces that accommodate both public and private uses.
The visualizations show the project from various perspectives—from its urban integration to the interior spaces. They convey the atmosphere of the future site and make the interplay between architecture, use, and urban context comprehensible.
