RIZ Bayreuth – Research and Innovation Center
SSP AG, Studio Daylab
With the Regional Start-up and Innovation Center (RIZ) in Bayreuth, Studio Daylab developed a building complex that brings together research, collaboration, and flexible work styles within a clearly structured architectural framework. The design is conceived as an open system that integrates diverse functions while simultaneously establishing a strong spatial identity.
The building fits into a campus-like structure and connects interior and exterior spaces via transparent facades and clearly defined entrances. The arrangement of the building volumes creates varied outdoor spaces and strengthens the relationship between the building and its surroundings.
Inside, open workspaces, quiet zones, and communal areas are created that interlock and enable flexible use. This spatial diversity forms the basis for diverse work and research processes and supports a collaborative way of working.
The visualizations focus on the spatial qualities of the project—both in the outdoor spaces and the interior areas. They showcase the atmosphere of the work environments, the lighting, and the materiality, conveying the architectural ethos of a place geared toward innovation, exchange, and long-term use.
